Visiting Dawson is a musical adventure

Small town on the small screen

A meteorite has crashed outside of a small Yukon town and one young man is determined to find it, encountering colourful characters and strange situations along the way.
This is the plot line of " Northern Town," a six-part, half-hour dramatic comedy series that was filmed in Dawson City in the spring and will be aired on CBC this fall.

Daniel Janke, the Yukon writer, producer and composer for the series, recently got word that Northern Town has been approved to film another seven episodes. The series is co-written by Bob Martin and Canadian indie film all-star Don McKellar is the story editor.

The first six episodes employed more that 250 Yukon residents and was shot entirely in the Yukon. It is the first television production to use the Yukon's new Film Development Fund. The goal of the fund is to increase the level of independent television, film, documentary and commercial production in the Yukon.
