Boning up on the badlands

Tyrrell tripping

Although the Royal Tyrrell's Day Digs program is temporarily on hold, the museum has a host of other activities for the amateur paleontologist this summer.

Excavate it! Use typical tools of the trade to uncover casts of dinosaur bones, map a quarry and interpret fossils — all in just 90 minutes.

Fossil casting Make a plaster cast of a prehistoric fossil, complete with details on its age and where it was discovered.

Kids camps For an afternoon, a day or a week, kids of all ages expose fossils from dig tables, hike the badlands and make their own dinosaur casts.
