Canada's Coolest Summer Schools
To most kids, summer school means cramped desks, stuffy classrooms
and daily homework while the rest of the world is out playing. But
how about a cool summer school that gives youngsters a range of
outdoor opportunities from sea-kayaking, canoeing and rock climbing
to orienteering, trail riding and environmental studies? Increasingly,
outdoor adventure facilities across the country are incorporating
wilderness education alongside regional Canadian history and wildlife
study to create programs that provide an outdoor summer adventure.
By integrating their courses into a context of ecological responsibility,
these summer schools help kids appreciate how fragile and precious
Canadian ecosystems are. Check the links below for more information
about some Canada's coolest summer schools.
