National Ski & Snowboard Week
One-hundred-and-seventy-five thousand Canadians can't be
wrong. Come the week of January 12 to 20, 2008, masses of Canadian
powder hounds will don toques and socks and flock to the slopes
of the country's ski resorts during National Ski & Snowboard
Week. Produced by the Canadian Ski Council, the event involves more
than 200 ski areas from across the country that host carnivals,
competitions, and concerts to help Canadians discover the splendour
of the country's longest season. Winter enthusiasts can join
in downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snow-tubing
and dog-sledding while snow-challenged novices can learn the ropes
at lessons and workshops. Check the links below for more information
on National Ski & Snowboard Week.

National Ski & Snowboard Week began more than 20 years ago as a celebration of
Canada's winter season. Each year, more than 175,000 people participate across the country.
The home website provides all the latest information on participating ski areas and the
events planned across the country. A visit here is sure to connect you to a nearby host
location and provide valuable information about how to obtain a free snowpass for the
little ones. This truly is a national event. So if you love the snow, get out there and
enjoy the week — don't be left out in the cold!

skiing storehouse chock full of news on the best alpine skiing on the planet. The main frame
of the site offers up-to-the minute news and scoops on skiing hotspots. Sidebar menus

loaded with ski tips, weather and road reports, plus the Canadian Avalanche Association.
www.goski.com
While GoSki gives the impression of having been created for people residing outside of
Canada, it, nonetheless, offers a great crash course on Canada's ski areas.
Choose your destination province and the sorting software produces a great list of options.
Each listing or entry is accompanied by a quick review of the chosen resort, including the
vital stats, such as elevation, fees, lifts, trails and accommodation. Should the review
satisfy your list of expectations, just hit the hotlink to the resort's home site. There is
lots of information packed in here, making it a great starting point for planning any alpine
holiday.
www.vacations-canada.com/ski_canada.htm
If you want to start skiing but you don't know how to do it, Vacations Canada is a
useful site for getting independent info on the available options. While the usual
suspects are all here, the site ranks each destination among its peers and the resulting
review is hotlinked to the resort.
