Skiing amidst the trees at Red Mountain
Choosing a destination for your ski holiday is one thing. Pinpointing
the finest trail or run is a whole other challenge. Canada's
favourite forest for skiing grows on the flanks of Red Mountain
in Rossland, British Columbia. Ever since hosting Canada's
first World Cup Event, the unassuming home of Nancy Greene and Kerrin
Lee-Gartner has drifted into obscurity. For glade skiers, however,
Red Mountain represents the peak of the sport. Surrounded by B.C.'s
interior wilderness, the resort boasts two main peaks that offer
360 degrees of descent. All you need to do is strap on your helmet,
find a fall line and stay on your feet. Check the links below for
more information on skiing in Red Mountain.

Red Mountain, outside Rossland, British Columbia, was recently ranked among The Top 5 Steeps by Skiing Magazine.
Why? Because it's a big-time mountain experience boasting lots of space, loads of wilderness and few people.
The Red Mountain web site has a straightforward, no-nonsense style that only comes from authenticity,
and that sincerity will whet your appetite to go vertical. There are 360 degrees of awesome descent
from Granite Mountain and the online, interactive trail maps will give you and idea of the amazing options
that await you. Beyond breathtaking downhill, there is cross-country, snowmobile, heli- and cat-skiing, plus
backcountry touring and snowshoeing.
