Kluane National Park's Wilderness on a Grand Scale
Yukon's Kluane National Park and Reserve is a vast, spectacular
wilderness containing the world's largest non-polar icefield,
some of the biggest and fastest glaciers in the country and Mount
Logan, Canada's highest peak. Dominated by mountains and ice
that make up more than three-quarters of its surface area, the vast
territorial landscape is the place for real adventurers. Raft heritage
waterways, like the Alsek River, or hike more than 200 kilometres
of trails. The overlap of Pacific and Arctic climates also gives Kluane
a rich wildlife diversity as populations of bald eagles, golden eagles,
grizzlies and Dall's sheep inhabit this breathtaking landscape
that stretches uninterrupted as far as the eye can see. Check the
links below for more information on one of Canada's wildest
protected areas.
