The Natural Art of Killarney Provincial Park
At 48,500 hectares, Killarney Provincial Park is among Ontario's
most majestic landscapes. Situated southwest of Sudbury, this spectacular
slice of Canadian Shield boasts thick pine forests, crystalline
lakes, red granite outcroppings and white-capped quartzite mountains
that have inspired artists such as A.Y. Jackson and the Group of
Seven. These same artful landforms also provide hikers and paddlers
with some of the finest backcountry canoeing and hiking in the country.
Classified as a wilderness park, Killarney is home to 11 key canoe
routes and a host of hiking trails, which range from few-hour outings
to weeklong loops, amid an undisturbed natural backdrop. Check the
links below for more information on Killarney Provincial Park.

Few people know Killarney better than Killarney Mountain Lodge & Outfitters.
Built in the late 1940s as a corporate wilderness retreat, Killarney Lodge
has been a family run operation serving the general public since Maury
and Annabelle East purchased it in 1962. Located on the north shore of
Georgian Bay in the village of Killarney, it's a well-known gateway
to adventure in the park. You can enjoy rustic cabins in a resort setting
and sign on for day trips into the park. If you're looking to rough
it in the woods, the outfitting arm of the company can set you up with
gear or guides to take the headache out of planning your trip.
