Canoeing and Hiking in Killarney Provincial Park

Killarney Provincial Park
I have spent many a summer paddling the lakes of Ontario. Whether it is weekends at my cottage in the Haliburton Highlands, or weeks in one of the many parks that Ontario has to offer. Yet in all the waters I have swam, the prettiest to me are those in Killarney Provincial Park, on the scenic northern shores of Georgian Bay.

My first time there I was still a youngster and was easily impressed by the small, peaceful lakes and rolling hills. Everywhere I turned in my canoe there was something even more beautiful to see.

My most recent trip to Killarney was Thanksgiving weekend in October. I paddled to the Le Cloche Mountains and spent the day hiking to the top. The colours were fantastic. Looking out across the tops of the trees, I felt as though I could dive into the pool of colour for an afternoon swim.

Travelling in Killarney, you have several different routes to take, each offering you different adventures. Whether you choose a trip around the sky-blue waters of Bunny Rabbit Lake, or climb the rich paths to the top of Silver Peak, visiting Killarney is an experience that should notbe missed.
