Northern Ontario
Climate
The weather in Northern Ontario can be summed up in one word: extreme.
Temperatures can vary in some areas as much as 40°C. Hot, muggy
summers are juxtaposed with frigid winters characterized by snow and
bone-chilling winds. The relatively flat Canadian Shield provides little
barrier for the weather systems that sweep down from the Arctic.
