Cypress Hills
Industry
After the fur trade ended, the Cypress Hills area continued to thrive. Although the farming that was introduced after the fur trade era
was short lived, it was quickly replace by ranching, to which the area was much better suited. Thousands of cattle grazed across the
grasslands, and ranching continues to be the prime land use in the Cypress Hills and surrounding area. Tourism, taking advantage of the
breathtaking scenery and recreational facilities available in Cypress Hills, is another major industry here.
