30,000 Reasons to Visit Georgian Bay
If you love island hopping, Georgian Bay — home of
the famous 30,000 Islands — is the place to go. Lining
the northern shore of Lake Huron, the 30,000 Islands rivals
the world’s great island clusters found along Puget
Sound, the shores of Maine and the Finland coast of the Baltic
Sea. What’s unique, however, is that this string of
scoured rocky formations is the world’s largest concentration
of islands in freshwater. Set in sparkling Georgian Bay, the
islands are dotted with windswept pines and make the perfect
setting for sightseeing and sunset cruises. At their heart
is Parry Sound, home to water-skiing, scuba-diving and year-round
fishing. Check the links below for more information on great
getaways in Georgian Bay.
