Lisgar Collegiate Institute opened in 1874, the year the above photo was taken. Just blocks from Parliament Hill, the Gothic Revival building is renowned for its gifted program and is still considered one of the top public schools in the province. The school's notable alumni include Governor General Adrienne Clarkson, Shelagh Rogers, Peter Jennings, Lorne Greene, Rich Little and James Naismith.
