The Canadian Forest Service is helping develop better methods for forecasting wildfire risk by assessing ignition potential and firefighting conditions. By adapting the Canadian Forest Fire Danger Rating System to the local vegetation and climate, agencies here are now able to produce their own fire-danger ratings.
