Winter’s friend

Expertise: Adventure, Trekking, Education

“I realized very early that winter and me, we were close friends,” says Bernard Voyer. The Quebecois explorer has demonstrated his close relationship with the cold season through his many achievements, which began in 1978 when he embarked on his first Arctic expedition. Voyer became the first person to ski across Ellesmere Island in 1992, and the first Canadian to ski to the North Magnetic Pole in 1993 and east-to-west across Greenland in 1995. Today he is also a motivational speaker, travelling the world to lecture at schools and other institutions, where he shares his journeys and his life of being “everywhere cold lives.”
